Very Dark grade maple syrup has light transmittance of 0–24.9%. I call this grade Mahogany.
This was the final batch of the 2026 harvest, made on the last day of the season. It is certainly the best batch of Very Dark maple syrup I have ever made—and it might be the best batch of maple syrup, of any grade, that I have ever made.
